Personal Training

Personal Training is the fastest and most effective way to reach your personal health and body goals. Sessions will be specific to you, and what you want to achieve.

I specialise in strength and hypertrophy (gaining muscle), and Golf Specific Training, as they are a main part in my personal training regime, and have vast experience in fat burning, and fitness improvement. I also have extensive experience in injury rehabilitation, working with clients who have had both hips replaced, arthritis and ME/CFS. Over the last two years I have worked with people training to run the London marathon.

One-to-one at The Shire

The Shire London Golf Club is based in St Albans Road, Barnet. The clubs facilities include an 18hole Championship course, a 9hole Academy course, driving range and practice area, and a Gym.

The gym is well equipped, and presents a fantastic view over the course as you work out. It is a private area so those who are self conscious about people being around when they train can feel at ease during sessions.

One-to-one personal training allows me to focus on your goals, and what we need to do to help you reach them! If you have had any problems with your training or have found yourself at a sticking point, making no progress, come and try a session! You will be amazed at how a change in routine can boost your results.


Golf Specific Training

The Professional golfers have started to realise the benefits of working out, and are utilising the effects of being stronger and having more stamina to improve their games.

If you feel like you would like more distance, or better balance in your stance, or maybe you struggle when getting the club through the long rough, then getting in the gym could help you overcome these setbacks!
A combination of being a qualified Sports Conditioning Instructor and playing myself, I have thoroughly studied the movements and kinetic chains involved with the muscles in the body, and have found key exercises which when learnt and executed correctly, will enhance your game.
There is a vast number of muscles used in the golf swing, and you are only as strong as your weakest link... So any one of those could be holding you back!

Strength or Hypertrophy Training

Although it is possible to do strength or hypertrophy training at The Shire, depending on the needs of the client, it may be advisable to conduct the sessions at The Works Gym.

The Works is located a 1 minute drive from The Shire, and is suited to users wanting much heavier weights and more specific machinery. 

I personally include hypertrophy and strength training in my routine, so have direct experience in it and combined with the Sports Conditioning Instructor qualification, have learnt the methods and techniques to get the best results possible. 

Strength training is advisable with all athletes and people playing sports. Among others, it will improve your performance, increasing strength, explosive speed, balance, core stability, utilisation of kinetic chains and mind to muscle connection. 

Sports men and women from all disciplines, from the olympians, to professional footballers, golfers, basketball players etc are all now using strength training as a part of their fitness programs. Try it for yourself and see your playing standard improve!
